Also in the highlands, the tortoises eat eh grass on the ground...this is why their shells are close to there heads. Tortoises on other islands have saddle back shells with a high spot behind their neck, because on the drier island there is no grass and they eat shrubs. These are the kinds of differences between species that Darwin noted on his visits.
